Multi-Variant Modeling Concepts, Issues, and Challenges

چکیده
When applying model-driven engineering to a product line, there is a need to deal with multi-variant models. So far, in industry software product line engineering has primarily been applied to data represented in (text) files and directories. Applying variation to non-textual models is more difficult, since models are complex structured objects. This paper presents basic concepts and discusses some issues and challenges with respect to multi-variant modeling.

Current Issues in Multi-Paradigm Modeling
The comprehensive use of models in design has created a set of challenges beyond that of supporting one isolated design task. In particular, the need to combine, couple, and integrate models at different levels of abstraction and in different formalisms is posing a set of specific problems that the field of Computer Automated Multiparadigm Modeling (CAMPaM) is aiming to address. This paper summ...
متن کاملStandard setting in medical education: fundamental concepts and emerging challenges
The process of determining the minimum pass level to separate the competent students from those who do not perform well enough is called standard setting. A large number of methods are widely used to set cut-scores for both written and clinical examinations. There are some challenging issues pertaining to any standard setting procedure. Ignoring these concerns would result in a large dispute ...
متن کاملA Multi-Formalism Modeling Framework: Formal Definitions, Model Composition and Solution Strategies
In this paper, we present a multi-formalism modeling framework (abbreviated by MFMF) for modeling and simulation. The proposed framework is defined based on the concepts of meta-models and uses object-orientation to overcome the complexities and to enhance the extensibility. The framework can be used as a basis for modeling by various formalisms and to support model composition in a unified man...
